One of the most versatile things you can make is a homemade sauce. It can be used for so many different meals, and this quick tomato sauce is my go-to. With just a few ingredients, you can make this yummy recipe in 30 short minutes.

What are the best tomatoes to use for sauce?
San Marzano tomatoes are the best option if you are making your own sauce. These have fewer seeds, which means they are less juicy or watery and allow your sauce to thicken. They are also low in acidity, allowing for a more flavorful sauce.

How long does this sauce last?
The sauce can last 3-5 days in the refrigerator or you can store in a Tupperware container in the freezer for up to 3 months. This is why I love this sauce so much because you can easily make it the day of or ahead of time.
Once you are ready to use the frozen sauce, it can easily be defrosted in the refrigerator over night the day before you want to use it. Then, I recommend adding it to a small saucepan to heat up in less than 10 minutes.
