Are you looking for a place to find a Lobster Roll this summer? Take a drive for lunch in Newburyport and check out Starboard Galley Restaurant. I recently visited for my birthday, and I could not have asked for anything better.

The lobster roll offered here is a classic Maine lobster roll, as it is served cold with celery and light mayo. Eating this lobster roll was so satisfying, having all of what I see as the most important aspects of a lobster roll: fresh, full pieces of lobster, light on the mayo and a toasted bun. The French fries and pickle served with this were the perfect accompaniment. The even have a Jumbo Lobster Salad roll which looked incredible!

I also ordered a cup of the New England clam chowder (not pictured), and it was delicious! The chowder is the perfect thickness, substantial pieces of clams and potatoes and perfectly seasoned. Next time I will order a bowl.

Not only is Newburyport a great place to go for seafood, but it is the most adorable town to visit in the summer. Located on the water, you can walk along or sit by the marina to enjoy the views. The downtown has so many shops to explore, candy stores, and cafes. It felt as though every time you turned down the street you would find another hidden treasure. There was even an antique store called “Oldies Marketplace”, This alone was worth the return to go back and explore – and to get another lobster roll, of course.

Do yourself a favor and visit Newburyport, Massachusetts – it has so much to offer.
